On Febuary 12, 2009, international burlesque starlet and multi-media artist Angela Eve (Eve's Parlor Burlesque / Twisted Tassel Burlesque Festival / Image Collective) collaborates with multi-disciplinary artist and designer Christophe Gauspohl (M5 Artist Collective / Greysheep Design Lab / UNSCENE Urban Navigator) as they present a truly unique event in Chicago - The Elysian Ball. Orchestrated as a modern interpretation of a classic speakeasy concept, this event showcases a well-curated variety of erotic-based performances in conjunction with interactive installations, fashion exhibits, video art and more.

Extravagant theatrics and performances will fuse various artistic mediums into a spatial narrative. A 9,000 sq. ft. loft space in Chicago's west loop will be transformed into a circus-like environment which will welcome the audience into a deeply sensual environment combining old world sensibilities with new technologies, conjuring a winter escape of wonder and spectacle.

I'm flying in to my home town (downtown), for Thanksgiving week and will need to come play with fire for some elemental grounding.

So, if you know of any fire circles, jams, or events goin' on, I'd love to hear about them.

I expect to be bringing my staff, 5 1/2 ft, so I'll be ready to spin some fuego with y'all.

I also can offer to teach the basics of long staff spining, in the downtown area, if enough peeps are interested, so lemme know

making a difference

ive been such a powerhouse today, i came back to chicago on july 29. i spent 2 days at my parents house helping my mom heal her leg and then i went back home to the city to pack, clean, organize, etc. and i found myself lost for what to do first. crazy shit. scattered. i also found myself realizing that i wasnt willing to spend the money i had saved through working at the house of blues for three and a half years on living, but only on traveling which became the source of my commitment to make money while im in chicago. but how? so this is august 1. so, i was taking a load to my parents house a few days later and i found so much artwork at their house in their basement that i freaked. i took it all home and photographed it. i want to tell you that since ive been in chicago, i have made (and not spent, i think i spent about $100 of the cash ive made, but i cant say with confidence the exact number) $1035 without having what we call a job! how cool is that?! by selling art on the street, selling art out of my backpack in buildings, getting bad debts paid back, selling furniture, collecting a paycheck from the house of blues, etc. and i feel awesome! also, i made a huge difference today in someones life. a deaf man came to me and asked me for $8.75 to get on the metra. i know this man from my old waitressing job at the house of blues cuz he used to come in and eat and sometimes one of us would get him free food and sometimes hed pay and sometimes id just talk to him, and so, i thought about giving him money. and then i doubted his truths and instead i pulled out $5 and asked him to get the rest from someone else. and he (he says that he talks to me cuz i understand him and no one else seems to. i kind of get sign language, but more importantly i get humans when they speak, no matter the language, right?!) so, he then told me he didnt want trouble with the law or trouble with people or to look like he was asking someone for money, cuz hes not that guy. so i got enrolled with him and went to a someone i know who works at the house of blues and she said no. then we went to the security guard and asked her if she had $3.75, she said no. so i asked if shed mind if we asked other people in the hob area, she said no. so we went to the first next person who introduced us to his friend whos name is Chris, who then said, $375???? and we laughed, and said, no, $3.75 and he said, "hell, ill do that for god" and pulled out a $20 and said "now you have extra money, use it to help someone else and know that i didnt do this, she didnt do this, jesus or god or whatever god you believe in did this!!!" and hell, that was an act of something powerful, whatever we call it....it was awesome! im left moved, touched, and inspired.

this is just what happened today! tomorrow is gonna be even bigger! i love big! shit! i love abundance! i love love! how did this day occur and the ones before it you ask. well, im inviting everyone to take a course at landmark education because it is what this day was given by. and furthermore, those of you who live in chicago, im inviting you to an introduction to landmark education. im taking the advanced course right now and it is changing my life. i wanna introduce you to the curriculum because i love you all and i know you will LOVE it and it will make a difference in your life! so. in introducing you to the stuff that is making a huge difference in my life, there are two intro sessions this week. one on tuesday, august 12, and one on wednesday, august 13. both are 7pm-10pm and tuesday is at their building and wednesday is at my house. ill be at both. so, im gonna give you the address for landmark and my address and all that, googlemaps does the most accurate directions out of all the mappers, or at least from the last time i checked. so, yeah...the food that will be at my place will prolly be pizza, unless anyone objects (do you object?). is there anything you dont eat on pizza or in general? since there will be food at my house and a specific number of chairs at landmark, it is imperative that i get confirmations by monday late night for tuesday and by tuesday late night for wednesday so that everything can be set up accordingly.

LED Hoop SOS

Ahhh! So a battery popped in my LED hoop when I was changing it the other day, so I switched out the batteries, but now that section of my hoop won't light up! It's not the batteries, cause I used them in one of the other sections and they work. Any suggstions? I need to get this fixed by Friday. PLEASE HELP!!

We are working hard to put together a second installation of sexy, scintillating, knock-yer-socks-off entertainment for the Chicago community AND...to raise funds for CHICAGO THONG!
Last year's event was a raging success. We raised tons of mulah for THONG and showcased over 20 Chicago performers! It was fabulous!

Our tentative (but likeliest) date for the show is Friday, March 30th.
We need your skillz....poi, hooping, dancing, stripping, singing, juggling, magic, mischeif, belly-flaunting! Whatever it is that you do, we WANT it!

I need a body painter/artist w/ painting skills

I am in need of an artist to help me paint my body Alex Grey style for the Tool concert on May 13th. I am just looking for someone to help with back/spots I can't reach. I have clear idea of what I want it to look like. Bones, tendons, veins, etc on most and incorporate a Tool logo design somewhere. I will be glad to give you compensation for your time and efforts. I will purchase body paints, but I've never done this before, so if anyone has good materials that I can just pay you directly, let me know. I would appreciate it SO much.

brief intro

Well although I'm more along the lines of 8 hours away from Chicago, I would still like the oppurtunity to perform with others up in the area when I'm there.

I do the usuial fire preformance stuff, but also a lot of sideshow stunts including swordswallowing, escaping from straightjackets, glass walking and a whole lot more.

I guess that is a kind of brief intro.
